Queen Latifah has responded to the firing of her Equalizer co-star, Chris Noth.

Speaking with People (the TV Show!), Latifah admitted that the sudden dismissal was “surreal”.

“It is such a dicey, delicate situation that requires a great deal of respect,” she said. “That’s a personal thing that he’s going to have to deal with.”

“We are figuring out what we want to do creatively on the show and how we’re going to deal with that character,” she continued. “Chris‘ character’s obviously a big part of the show and it was amazing chemistry, amazing chemistry. And my feeling is justice has to prevail regardless. I just want the right things to be done, you know?”

The pair had worked together on The Equalizer since 2020, with Noth cast as William Bishop and Latifah as Robyn McCall. Noth’s firing from the series came in the wake of sexual assault allegations made against him in a report by The Hollywood Reporter.

CBS issued a statement in December, confirming Noth’s removal from the show “effective immediately”.

He has denied all accusations made against him.
