Jada Pinkett-Smith Shares Unseen Poem By Tupac On His 50th Birthday

Actress Jada Pinkett-Smith shows fans a never-before-seen poem written by Tupac Shakur ahead of what would have been the late rappers 50th birthday.
Jada shared an Instagram video featuring the handwritten poem by her longtime friend.
Tupac would have been celebrating his 50th birthday on June 16.
The rapper was shot and tragically killed on September 13, 1996 when he was just 25-years-old.
“As we prepare to celebrate his legacy … let’s remember him for that which we loved most … his way with words. Here are a few you may have never heard before” she writes in the caption.
Before beginning to read the video aloud, Jada adds “I don’t think he would have minded that I shared this with you guys”.

The talk show host believes he penned the poem whilst he was incarcerated at Rikers Island.
In an episode of Red Table Talk, titled ‘Surviving Loss‘, Pinkett-Smith reveals the death of Tupac still affects her.
“My upset is more anger because I feel like he left me. And I know that’s not true and it’s a very selfish way to think about it.”
“I really did believe he’d be here for the long run. And when I think about it I still get really mad.”
