Jamie Vardy Buys Stake in American Soccer Team

Leicester City Striker Jamie Vardy buys a minority stake in American Club Rochester Rhinos.

Forming in 1996, Rochester Rhinos haven’t competed for the past four years. This is however set to change according to reports from SkySports News as the club, “plan to field a team again in 2022.”

Alongside Vardy joining on board as a co-owner of the club, Rochester have also signed a partnership with Empire United Soccer Academy.

Speaking on his new journey, the Leicester player said the following; “I’m really excited to be part of the Rhinos,” adding that he was drawn to the club because of their US Open Cup win. 

Although the club hasn’t played any level competition in four years this doesn’t make the him any less excited about the future of the club saying, “Although the club has been through some difficult years since, in a way that makes this more appealing to me.”

Vardy will still remain as a player at Leicester and mentioned in his Instagram that his priority remains at the club.
