Jared Leto found himself submerged in Italy’s street riots yesterday after protestors took to the streets against the government’s vaccine mandate.

The Thirty Seconds To Mars singer and Suicide Squad actor shared some startling images of the riots on his Instagram.

In a number of videos canisters of teargas have been set off nearby and armoured police officers march through the streets.

Another video showed a man with what appeared to be a severe head wound.

Thousands of people have amassed in the streets of Rome for several days, clashing with police over the government’s plans to introduce a mandatory COVID-19 “green pass” for all workers.

“Got caught in a protest in Italy,” read Leto’s post. “From what I gather it was about vaccine mandates / green pass. Got teargassed then called it a night. Here are some images and video.”

Leto was recently in Italy for the production of Ridley Scott’s House of Gucci. Production on the film wrapped on May 8, with an anticipated November 24 release date.
