Jeffree Star Says His “Regina George” Persona Isn’t Him Anymore

YouTuber Jeffree Star, says his reputation as a “controversial” beauty vlogger is over.
Star has been embroiled in several public spats and scandals over the years – most notably with fellow beauty bloggers James Charles and Tati Westbrook. Star has also faced allegations of racism and sexual manipulation in the past.
Speaking to E! Online, the 35-year-old claims he’s been through a period of “self reflection” during the pandemic and in the aftermath of a serious car accident earlier in the year. Star was hospitalised in April and made to wear a back brace after a car he was in flipped three times on black ice.

Calling his online persona a “Regina George character”, Star added: “That’s just really not me anymore.”
“I think that’s kind of hard for people to understand because I was in a lot of drama and a lot of it wasn’t my doing. A lot of it was me entertaining things that I shouldn’t have, and acting childish and stupid and letting emotions get the best of me.”
The beauty star added that he always felt he “owed” an explanation when he was caught amidst drama or controversy. Now though, Star says he’s left his “childish and stupid” behaviour behind.
“I honestly keep to myself and I don’t really engage in the beauty world anymore.” He said. “I have zero contact with all of those people.”
