Jensen Ackles Joins Upcoming Western ‘Rust’

Jensen Ackles has joined Alec Baldwin in the upcoming western, Rust.

According to Deadline, additional castmates include Travis Fimmel, Brady Noon and Frances Fisher.

Rust follows the famous outlaw Harland Rust (Baldwin). When Rust’s 13-year-old grandson Lucas (Noon) is convicted of an accidental murder and sentenced to hand, Rust comes to his rescue.

On the run from U.S. Marshal Wood Helm (Ackles) and bounty hunter Fenton ‘Preacher’ Lang (Fimmel), the pair form a familial bond as they try to survive the American Frontier.

Joel Souza will helm the project and also penned the script. Baldwin is producing under El Darado Pictures, alongside Matt DelPiano through Cavalry Media, Ryan Donnell Smith through Thomasville Pictures, Anjul Nigam through Brittany House PicturesRyan Winterstern and Nathan Klingher through Short Porch Pictures.

Ackles is best known for portraying Dean Winchester in the fantasy series Supernatural. His other roles include appearances in Smallville and Dawson’s Creek. Most recently, he secured the role of Solider Boy in season 3 of The Boys.
