Jersey Shore’s ‘The Situation’, real name Michael Sorrentino, will be released from prison Friday, September 13, 2019.

Michael was sentenced to eight months in prison and two years of supervised released after he was found guilty of tax evasion.

In September he was indicted for tax offences and conspiring to defraud the United States after failing to properly pay taxes on $8.9 million (est. £6,908,358) from 2010 to 2012. Initially, Michael pled not guilty but in January 2018 he pled guilty to one count of tax evasion.

His wife, Lauren Pesce, has given an update to fans of Michael, saying, “Mike would like to thank all of his fans worldwide for the unbelievable outpouring of love and support from you all. We speak every day and he’s doing great… It is truly heartwarming to have this support during this time.” — according to Lauren, they have received over 1,000 letters of support.
