Jessie J Opens Up On ‘Overwhelming Sadness’ Of Miscarriage
Singer Jessie J has taken to Instagram to open up on the heartbreak of losing her unborn child.
She writes that there was no longer a heartbeat during her 3rd scan, just a day before she was performing a gig in LA.
“Yesterday morning I was laughing with a friend saying “seriously though how am I going to get through my gig in LA tomorrow night without telling the whole audience I am pregnant”, she said.
“By yesterday afternoon I was dreading the thought of getting through the gig without breaking down… After going for my 3rd scan and being told there was no longer a heartbeat ?.”
Jessie J made the decision to go ahead with the gig, saying her ‘soul needs it’ after performing just twice in two years.
Writing about it felt ‘safer’ to the 33-year-old than trying to explain her energy on stage.
“I’m still in shock, the sadness is overwhelming.” She adds, “But I know I am strong, and I know I will be ok.”
She has received an outpouring of support since her post, with a flurry of friends and supporters sending her infinite love.
Fans at her gig showed immense patience and empathy as she took to stage and not only performed but talked honestly and openly about one of the ‘hardest years of her life’.
