Josh Lucas Joins Adrian Grunberg’s Shark Survival Thriller

Josh Lucas is to star in Adrian Grunberg’s upcoming shark survival thriller, The Black Demon.

According to Variety, production on the new film will begin in the Dominican Republic this December.

The Black Demon follows an oilman named Paul Sturges (Lucas) who takes his family on vacation to Bahia Azul. There they find the town has crumbled and the locals are missing. Quickly finding himself and his family stranded on the local oilrig, Sturges must find a way to escape the massive megalodon that begins to hunt them.

Developed by Mucho Mas Media and Silk Mass, the film’s producers include Javier Chapa, Jon Silk, and Petr Jakl. The script was penned by Boise Esquerra.

Lucas has featured in American Psycho, Ford v Ferrari, and The Forever Purge. He has also enjoyed roles in NBC’s The Firm and Paramount Network’s Yellowstone.
