Justin Bieber has filed to voluntarily dismiss a defamation lawsuit against two defendants who accused him of sexual assault.

The 28-year-old singer originally filed the suit in 2020 after two women on Twitter claimed that he’d sexually assaulted them in 2014 and 2015.

According to TMZ, Bieber has now dropped the legal action as he feels he’s made his point and wants to move on from the case.

In tweets posted in June 2020, one defendant named Danielle alleged that Bieber had sexually assaulted her in an Austin hotel room after the South by Southwest event in 2014.

Bieber’s lawyers said the singer didn’t have a room at the hotel where Danielle was staying and later provided evidence that he’d instead spent the night with his then-girlfriend Selena Gomez at a rental property elsewhere in the city.

On the same day, another defendant named Khadidja Djibrine posted that Bieber had sexually assaulted her in a New York City hotel in March 2015.

Bieber’s legal again claimed the singer hadn’t stayed at the same hotel as Djibrine and provided evidence that he was actually at a Met Gala party at the time of the alleged incident.
