Justin Bieber Releases ‘Lonely’ Music Video Starring Jacob Tremblay

Justin Bieber has released a new song, Lonely, alongside the music video featuring a younger version of himself.
The 26-year-old Confident singer released Lonely, produced by Benny Blanco, on Friday, October 16, with the music video receiving nearly 2 million views within the first 5 hours.
Highlighting the struggles Bieber fought throughout his childhood, into his teenage years and adulthood, viewers and listeners of the video can truly feel the raw emotion heard in the lyrics, which include, What if you had it all, but nobody to call?//Maybe then you’d know me.//’Cause I’ve had everything but no one’s listening, and that’s just f****** lonely. I’m so lonely.
Early in the song, Justin references his very public outbursts and actions that were understandably his low points as a worldwide pop star at a very young age. Other lyrics include, Everybody knows my past now like my house was always made of glass.//Maybe that’s the price you pay for the money and fame at an early age.//And everybody saw me sick, and it felt like no one gave a s***.//They criticised the things I did as an idiot kid.
Directed by Jake Schreier, the music video features Jacob Tremblay as young Baby-era Bieber, as he sits alone before walking to the very large stage, with no-one supporting him and cheering him on. As the all-in-one-shot camera moves further away from Tremblay, Justin can be seen watching the younger version of himself in the empty seating area before the camera focusses on a now-adult artist.
