K-Pop Singer Taeyeon Speaks Out Against Online Trolls

Girls’ Generation member and Korean singer Taeyeon has spoken out against online trolls in a post to her Instagram.

Taeyeon hit back against online haters in a written post to her Instagram story on July 6. The singer pointed the hypocrisy of the malicious comments made by haters and declared that she will “live however I want.”

“You criticize that I am fat if I gain weight, that I look sick if I lose weight, that I look like a guy if I wear baggy clothes, that I look too racy if I wear tight clothes.” Taeyeon wrote.

“Whatever I do the people who will hate on me will hate, so it is better to live however I want.” She added.

It is unclear if Taeyeon’s response is in relation to any one person or if it is just a response to comments made on her Instagram.

Taeyeon’s latest single ‘Weekend’ released on the same day as the written post and includes the lyrics “It’s okay to do whatever I like / I can do whatever I want.”

‘Weekend’ is Taeyeon first new release in over six months. Her last mini-album ‘What Do I Call You’ released in December last year.
