Kansas Singer And Violinist Robby Steinhardt Has Died Aged 71

Robby Steinhardt, co-lead vocalist and violinist of the band Kansas has died at the age of 71. Steinhardt performed with the band for almost two decades. 

His wife, Cindy broke the sad news on Facebook yesterday Monday, July 19, where she posted a touching tribute.

“It is with an extremely heavy broken heart that I have to announce to the world, we have lost one of the most incredible people of our time… Robby Steinhardt has passed away.” Cindy wrote.

In the same post, Cindy revealed that earlier this year in May, Steinhardt was admitted to hospital with acute pancreatitis. However, shortly after admission he unfortunately went into acute septic shock and was placed on life support.

Despite, doctors believing he would not survive the night, Cindy said that Steinhardt continued to fight and appeared to be on the road to recovery.

After spending 65 days recovering, Steinhardt was due to be released from the hospital. However, just before release he sadly became ill once again with sepsis.

Steinhardt passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021.

Kansas also paid tribute to Steinhardt on Facebook saying: “We love him and will miss him always.”

“Robby will always be in our souls, in our minds, and in our music. What he brought to us as bandmates, to the fans who attended our concerts, and to the sound of Kansas, will always be heartfelt.”

Rest in Peace, Robert Steinhardt.
