Kelly Clarkson Opens Show Featuring Steve Carell & The Rock

The Kelly Clarkson Show landed on NBC today and it was crammed with celebrity guests.
It debuted on Monday with musical performances, celebrity interviews and human interest pieces — all making for a successful launch to daytime television.
The new one-hour talk show, hosted by Kelly Clarkson, had the American Idol judge singing Dolly Patron’s 9 to 5, which was followed by an introduction from Steve Carell — who stars in Apple TV+‘s upcoming The Morning Show.
The 40-Year-Old Virgin actor had the audience in fits of laughter when he reenacted his famous line from the film, “AHHHH KELLY CLARKSON,”

Kelly said, “I’m so excited, y’all … When I signed onto this show I was like, ‘Is it possible for [Carell] to shout my name on the very first episode?’ and it happened … what is my life?!”
Another guest appeared, The Rock, replacing Kevin Hart’s spot after he suffered serious back injuries due to a car wreck. Dwayne Johnson gave an update on the actors’ condition, saying, “I connected with him today and these things happen in life and thankfully he was strapped in nicely to his car seat … I’m only kidding, we spoke to the paediatrician and he said … he’s doing well, he’s bummed he couldn’t be here. I love the guy. Thank god, it could have been a lot worse, he’s a lucky man. He knows it too. I wish him the best and a speedy recovery.”
