Kenzo Names New Artistic Director

Japanese fashion designer and founder of brand The Bathing Ape, Nigo has been named as the new artistic director ofKenzo.
Kenzo is owned by the prestigious Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, or LVMH.
It was founded by France by Japanesse designer Takada Kenzo in 1970.
Takada Kenzo sadly passed away last year, due to Covid-19.
Nigo announced the position with a heartwarming instagram post;
In a statement, LVMH chairman and CEO Sidney Toledano said, “The arrival of an extremely talented Japanese designer will allow us to write a new page in the history of the house that Takada Kenzo founded.”
I am convinced that the creativity and innovation of Nigo as well as his attachment to the history of the house will fully express all the potential of Kenzo.”
Nigo is the first Japanese designer to be at the helm since the founder retired in 1999, and is also world renowned in his own right.
The Bathing Ape is hailed as one of Japan’s first streetwear brands in 1993
BAPE was brought over to the west with the help of Pharrell Williams, and Nigo has been a household name within fashion ever since.
