Kourtney Kardashian has announced that she won’t be in the upcoming season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

The 40-year-old made the announcement during an interview with Entertainment Tonight, saying, “I just decided to spend more time as a mom and put more of my energy there,”

She will be focussing on her role as a parent to her children, Mason, 9, Penelope, 7, and Reign, 4, but wants to reassure fans of the reality show that her departure isn’t goodbye forever.

Reassuring Entertainment Tonight‘s host Keltie Knight, Kourtney explained, “But I’m not saying goodbye. I think you’ll have to see more of it on the new season, season 18. It isn’t airing yet, but it’s being filmed. Currently, in this room.”

Her sisters, Kim Kardashian West and Khloé Kardashian believe Kourtney will return to the reality show in the future, with Khloé saying, “We definitely love Kourtney and we will mist Kourtney and whatever she decides to do, but people come, people go all the time in this family.

We feel like it’s a revolving door, so Kourtney might leave this week, she’ll be back. They all come back.”

Keeping Up with the Kardashians has aired since October 2007 and is one of the longest-running reality shows in the history of television. It has followed every relationship and every breakup of each sister and family friends that appear throughout each season.
