Lions Coach Dan Campbell Gets Emotional After Fifth Loss

Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell became emotional after the team lost their fifth game on Sunday (October 10).

After the 19-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, Campbell couldn’t restrain his emotions during the post-game press conference.

After securing a one-point lead with 37 seconds left on the clock, the Lions didn’t anticipate the sudden comeback launched by the Vikings. With what little time was left, Minnesota secured a 54-yar field goal to clinch the win.

Visibly teary-eyed, Campbell said it was tough to lose when his players were working so hard.

“When you see your players give it all that they have and you lose that way – it’s tough,” said Campbell. “You know you don’t want that for them. So… But we’ll be better for it.”

“Credit to Minnesota but you know, we made the one mistake that cost us. And so, ultimately, we didn’t do enough to win it. But I was proud of them and I love the fight they have in them and I love the grit.”

The Lions are set to host the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday (October 16).
