Lorde wanders through the New York Botanical Garden and answers 73 questions with Vogue Magazine

The 24-year-old artist walks through the greenery as she is interviewed by Vogue.

She gushes over how “beautiful” the gardens, but confesses that whilst she misses “literally every single thing” about New Zealand, she misses the outdoors the most.

“Mainly the beaches and the parks and the food” she says.

From revealing that she wanted to be a “cartoonist” when she was younger to labelling David Bowie as her style icon, the pop star breezed through the quick-fire questions elegantly.

She also explained her first two albums: “The first album was so communal, it was about me and my peers. The second one is really about my experience.”

Her new album, Solar Power, will feature cicada sounds to recreate the sound of New Zealand nature.

“I started recording cicadas a couple of years ago in New Zealand,” she says, “They really sound like a New Zealand summer to me.”

Her home country is clearly very close to the singer’s heart. She reveals that she is passionate “about things that affect New Zealanders. Child poverty, bettering the systems that protect Māori, and our climate legislation.”

When asked what artists she would like to collaborate with, she says “I kinda wanna talk to Harry Styles.”
