Lorde Teases Fans With Cover Art For First New Music In Years

The 24-year-old singer-songwriter has confirmed that new music is on the way in 2021.

Eagle-eyed fans have noticed an update to the ‘Royals‘ hitmakers website that showcases the cover art for a rumoured new single titled ‘Solar Power’.

The artwork shows the singer running across a beach in a yellow bodysuit.

Lorde has not released new music in almost 4 years since the release of ‘Melodrama’ in 2017 – which was crowned NME’s album of the year.

The release date for ‘Solar Power’ is yet to be confirmed but a simple, yet somewhat mysterious, tagline below the artwork reads, “Arriving in 2021… Patience is a virtue”.

There’s also a link encouraging fans to sign up for Lorde’s mailing list for further updates.

The New Zealand artist was announced earlier this year on the lineup for 2022’s Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona. Fans soon speculated that the booking meant the arrival of new music and her imminent return to the music scene.
