Marc Forster To Direct Comedy Film Starring Tom Hanks

Marc Forster is attached to direct the upcoming adaptation of the Swedish comedy, A Man Called Ove.
Deadline reports that Tom Hanks is set to star in the new feature, based on the bestselling novel by Fredrik Backman.
The story follows an unhappy widower whose dismissal from the neighbourhood association causes him to decide to commit suicide, only to have his attempts repeatedly thwarted by new neighbours and friends.
David Magee is adapting the script, with Fredrik Wikstrom Nicastro, Rita Wilson, Hanks, and Gary Goetzman set to produce. Forster, who is helming the project, has previously worked on a number of prominent titles including the likes of Finding Neverland, Quantum of Solace, and World War Z.
The original Swedish picture directed by Hannes Holm achieved critical acclaim upon its release in 2015, receiving two Oscar nominations for best foreign-language film and best makeup and hairstyling.
Production on the new film adaptation will reportedly begin later this year.
