Michael Costello has issued an apology to Leona Lewis after the singer claimed she was left “humiliated” by him in 2014.

In a now expired Instagram Story, Lewis said she had been dropped from a fashion show when a sample for one of Costello’s dresses didn’t fit her. Lewis added that the experience had left her “deeply hurt”.

Her comments came after Costello addressed a public apology made by Chrissy Teigen. The model and television personality confessed she was a “troll” and apologised to those she had hurt. Her statement prompted Costello to come forward as one of her victims.

Costello told the BBC that he would have made an alternative dress for Lewis but a time constraints made the task impossible.

Now Lewis has taken to Instagram once more, thanking the fashion designer for his apology in a new Story.

Michael, thank you for your apology, I wish you healing and that you feel better. For now, today is a new day, spread love.”
