Miley Cyrus has reached out to DaBaby and called for forgiveness for the rapper after homophobic comments he made sparked outrage.

The rapper made a series of controversial comments during his set at the Rolling Loud music festival on July 26 which many labelled as homophobic.

Artists such as Elton John, Dua Lipa and Madonna have all condemned the comments made by the rapper which included a rant about people who have HIV/AIDS.

In a post shared to her Instagram, Cyrus however has taken a different approach and offered DaBaby a chance to speak to her via Instagram direct message so that they can both learn from each other and help educate others.

“The internet can fuel a lot of hate & anger and is the nucleus of cancel culture. But I believe it can also be a place filled with education, conversation, communication & connection,” the singer said in her post.

“There’s no more room for division if we want to keep seeing progress,” she added.

Cyrus’ attempt to reach out to the rapper comes after a series of music festivals removed DaBaby from their line-ups.

The Lollapalooza music festival booted the rapper from their line-up the day he was due to headline after he reportedly had failed to film a video apology which his representatives promised he would.
