Netflix Begins Production Of Fictional Drama Series About Spotify

Netflix has begun production on a new series about the rise of Spotify and how the music streaming platform revolutionised the industry.

The six-part series will reportedly focus on CEO Daniel Ek and his business partner Martin Lorentzon.

Ek changed the music industry forever when he founded Spotify and began offering free legal streamed music.

The series will star actor Edvin Endre as the company’s CEO Daniel Ek and Christian Hillborg as co-founder Martin Lorentzon.

Netflix says inspiration for the series comes from the book ‘Spotify Untold’ by authors Sven Carlsson and Jonas Leijonhufvud.

The book goes into detail about Spotify’s rise in the industry as well as the platforms ongoing conflict with Apple.

Netflix announced production is underway on the series and it will be available globally in 2022.
