Netflix Denies Suspending Trans Employee Over Dave Chappelle Criticism

Netflix has denied reports suggesting that they fired a transgender employee over tweets criticising Dave Chappelle’s new comedy.
The streaming giant has denied firing employee Terra Field, a senior software engineer, who posted a series of tweets last week criticising Dave Chapelle’s new comedy series.
Reports claimed that Netflix had fired Field and a number of other employees, after they posted tweets claiming that Chappelle was attacking the trans community.
“I work at @netflix. Yesterday we launched another Chappelle special where he attacks the trans community,” Field tweeted.
A spokesperson for Netflix has since denied the reports stating that they have not fired Field or any other employees over tweets criticising Chappelle’s show.
“It is absolutely untrue to say that we have suspended any employees for tweeting about this show,” Netflix said to the LA Times.
“Our employees are encouraged to disagree openly and we support their right to do so,” they added.
Netflix added that the reason they had suspended Field was because she allegedly attended a business meeting she was not supposed too.
