Netflix Teases Trailer For ‘Fear Street Part 2’

Netflix has shared the trailer for Fear Street Part 2, a week after the first installment was released on the platform.
The new film is part of a trilogy based on books by R.L. Stine. The features are being released on Netflix across July.
Set in Shadyside, 1978, the latest installment follows a summer at Camp Nightwing. But when another Shadysider is possessed with the urge to kill, the fun becomes a gruesome fight for survival.
Director Leigh Janiak spoke to Entertainment Weekly about her plans for the trilogy.
“I was interested in how we could reinvent the genre a little bit.” She explained. “Part of that came from this opportunity to tell a different kind of story that had a bigger narrative, connected over all three, that you need to watch in a short amount of time to get the full experience. It’s not a traditional sequel model.”
“The way that the actors and I worked in that movie was different than in the 90s.” Janiak elaborates on the second film. “They live in a slightly more stylized world, they fit more traditional archetypes versus the ’90s characters.”
Part 2 of the trilogy stars Sadie Sink, Emily Rudd, McCabe Slye, Ryan Simpkins, Tedd Sutherland and Chiara Aurelia.
Fear Street Part 2: 1978 arrives on July 9.
