The 58-year-old actress is being honoured with the The Lifetime Achievement Award, Palme d’Or. It is the highest prize awarded at Cannes Film Festival.
The Silence of the Lambs star is a two-time Oscar winning actress and a talented director who has been labeled a Friend of Film due to her remarkable career in the film industry.
She first attended Cannes at only 13-years-old after starring in two films in competition – Martin Scorsese‘s Taxi Driver and Alan Parker‘s Bugsy Malone.
