New Universal Film ‘Cocaine Bear’ Adds First Cast Members

Keri Russel, O’Shea Jackson, Ray Liotta, Alden Ehrenreich and Jesse Tyler Ferguson join the cast of Cocaine Bear.
The film is a Univseral production, directed by Elizabeth Banks. The script written by Jimmy Warden – follows true events which took place in Kentucky in 1985. The events surround a New York Times article which reported the discovery of a 175-pound bear, found dead after consuming 40 containers of cocaine.
Russel is known for starring in FX’s, The Americans and is set to appear in upcoming horror film Antlers. Appearing in the likes of Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Jackson will also feature in Disney’s new Obi-Wan Kenobi series.
Liotta, best known for his iconic role in 1990 crime film, Goodfellas, will also appear in the upcoming Sopranos prequel, The Many Saints of Newark. Enrenreich has starred in Hail, Caesar! opposite George Clooney and Ralph Fiennes. Ferguson’s last film role was 2016’s Ice Age: Collision Course, but he has also featured in Modern Family.
Cocaine Bear will begin filming in Ireland on August 23.
