Novak Djokovic Withdraws From Indian Wells Over Vaccine Status

Despite being named in the draw for the Indian Wells 2022, Novak Djokovic has been forced to withdraw from the tournament.
Djokovic has been denied entry into the United States due to his unvaccinated status.
Regulations require any non-US citizen to have the Covid-19 vaccination before coming into the country.
Djokovic revealed on Twitter that the CDC will not be changing, leaving him no choice but to withdraw.
While I was automatically listed in the @BNPPARIBASOPEN and @MiamiOpen draw I knew it would be unlikely I’d be able to travel. The CDC has confirmed that regulations won’t be changing so I won't be able to play in the US. Good luck to those playing in these great tournaments ?

He will not be participating in the Miami tournament either.
It’s been just under a month since the Serbian said he was willing to sacrifice trophies over his vaccine stance.
Fans can expect to see him return in April for the Monte Carlo Masters.
