Oscar Pistorius Could Released In 2023 After Meeting With Father Of Murdered Model

Oscar Pistorius could be released in 2023 after serving most of his sentence.
The 35-year-old convicted murderer has set his sights on a release date after serving 8 years of the 15 he was given in 2015.
Earlier this year, Barry Steenkemp, the father of murdered model Reeva Steenkemp, met up with Pistorius in a Gqeberha prison in Eastern Cape. As part of the double amputees rehabilitation the meeting was arranged, and according to Barry, the grieving father and Paralympian shook hands after a 30 minute conversation.
Steenkemp made it clear that he does not forgive Oscar for murdering his model daughter on February 14, 2013, but explained “He [Pistorius] thanked me and told me how sorry he was. It was a touching moment. We decided to shake hands. I didnât say, âI forgive youâ. I just said, âThank you.â”
According to Barry, he wanted to get a confession of truth from Oscar, who claims he shot his girlfriend through the bathroom door after mistaking her for a burglar, for a TV documentary, but says “I didnât get my truth.”
June Steenkemp, Reeva‘s mother, refused to attend the meeting. Pistorius is eligible for parole in 2023 and due to “glowing behaviour” reports coming from the Atteridgeville Correctional Centre in Pretoria with them suggesting that Oscar is somewhat of a role model prisoner.
