‘Parasite’ Director Bong Joon-ho Reveals New TV Spin Off Details

Director Bong Joon-Ho of hit film ‘Parasite’ has revealed new details about the film’s forthcoming TV spin-off.
The TV spin-off of the hit Korean film released in 2019 was first announced last year. Many critics considered ‘Parasite’ as one of the best films of 2019 after it grossed over $258 million.
‘Parasite’ received multiple rewards at the 92nd Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best International Feature Film.
Bong revealed new details on the forthcoming TV series at Cannes saying: “‘Parasite’ is a film on wealthy and poor families, and that is a problem everywhere. The television series will be something of great genius, I hope. I worked with Adam McKay and he’s figuring out the scenario. We’re going to do it in the United States.”
“I’m involved in the HBO adaptation of ‘Parasite’. It will be a black comedy. This time I’m giving my input as a producer.”
The TV series is currently in development and is expected to premiere in 2022.
