Rooney Mara To Play Audrey Hepburn In Upcoming Film

Rooney Mara is to star as Audrey Hepburn in a new Apple biopic.
Variety reports that the project, based on a script by Michael Mitnick, will be helmed by Call Me by Your Name director, Luca Guadagnino.
Mara will also produce the film based on the life of Hepburn. The Hollywood legend is famous for her humanitarian work, as well as her roles in films such as Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Sabrina, and Wait Until Dark. She passed away in 1993, aged 63, following a battle with cancer.
Responding to the casting, Hepburn’s son Sean called Mara “a delight”.
“I was not aware of the project,” he told Fox News. “Rooney is a delight. Sounds like there is a lot of love there.”
Mara is best known for starring in 2011’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and 2015’s Carol. She has also featured in major titles including Pan, Lion, and A Ghost Story. Most recently, she appeared alongside Bradley Cooper in Guillermo del Toro’s picture Nightmare Alley, and is currently working on the upcoming drama, Women Talking.
