San Diego Wave FC Announce The Signing Of Abby Dahlkemper

NWSL newcomers, San Diego Wave FC, have announced the signing of Abby Dahlkemper from Houston Dash via North Carolina Courage. 

The 28-year-old international becomes the club’s first-ever signing.

Dahlkemper was part of the 2019 USWNT team that won a second successive World Cup in France.

She was equally integral to the side that won a bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics earlier this year.

The USWNT centreback joined the Dash mid-season in 2021, following a short spell at Manchester City in the WSL, from league opponents NCC.

“Abby is one of the best centrebacks in the world and a proven winner at the club and international level,” said SDWFC President Jill Ellis.

“We look forward to welcoming her to San Diego and our club.”

Dahlkemper will join already announced coach, Casey Stoney, ahead of the 2022 season.
