Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith has been arrested for allegedly driving under the influence, following his team’s win over the weekend.
As reported by TMZ, Smith was pulled over by Washington State Patrol officers at around 2 am on Monday, hours after the Seahawks had returned home from their win against the Arizona Cardinals.
The NFL star was initially pulled over because he was speeding, but shortly after was arrested and booked into the King Country Jail.
He has since been released from custody.
In a statement, Smith’s attorney Jon Fox said: “Geno is fully cooperative with the investigation. I hope that an open mind can be kept by all as the facts are ascertained.”
Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll also released a statement saying: “We have to let his people handle all of that. He was in the meeting today with us. I don’t have anything other than that.’
