Naomi Osaka Withdraws From Tournament Due To Injury

Naomi Osaka withdrew from the Melbourne Summer Set after suffering an abdominal injury.
The 24-year-old tennis player announced the news in a Tweet on Friday (January 7), writing that her body was in “shock” after returning to the sport and that she hoped to recover in time for the Australian Open.
The tournament marks her first since the US Open. Following her elimination in September, Osaka revealed that she would take a break from tennis to focus on her mental health.
Sad to withdraw due to injury from my match today, my body got a shock from playing back to back intense matches after the break I took. Thank you for all the love this past week ❤️ I’ll try to rest up and I’ll see you soon!
