Seth Rogen Confirms ‘Pineapple Express’ Sequel Was Rejected By The Studio

Seth Rogen has opened up about Pineapple Express and the fate of the much-anticipated sequel.
The 38-year-old comedic-actor was on The Howard Stern Show when he revealed details about the highly-demanded sequel and whether it will happen.
He told Stern that he wanted to make it happen in recent years, even referencing the possibility during 2013 dark-comedy This Is The End starring co-star James Franco.
Rogen said, “We tried to make one. Thanks to the Sony hack, you can like actually find the email when Sony killed the movie. It was something we were very open to several years ago, but Sony was not that interested in it.” prompting Howard to beg the question, “Why wouldn’t they jump on the idea of a Pineapple Express 2?”
The Interview star replied, “I think we probably wanted too much money. Studios, they don’t like giving away money. Weird thing,” before laughing.
