Shailene Woodley Wants Lead Role In Upcoming ‘Star Wars’ Film; She Will Settle With Being A Stormtrooper

Shailene Woodley has admitted she wants a role in the upcoming Star Wars film announced by Disney.
The 28-year-old Insurgent actresses told Conan O’Brien during an appearance for Conan At Home that she wants to be in the franchise, even if she’s just a stormtrooper.
She explained that growing up she would only respond to her name if someone called her Leia, referring to Princess Leia, played by the late Carrie Fisher. Woodley said, “I – as a child in kindergarten – refused to go by my name … people had to call me Leia.”
Continuing to tell O’Brien of her future hopes, “If the opportunity to be a lead in a Star Wars film came around, listen – I wouldn’t say no … but I also think it would be very cool to be an extra.”
