Sophie Turner Cast In HBO Drama ‘The Staircase’

Sophie Turner is set to join Colin Firth in the new HBO drama ‘The Staircase‘.

Turner, best known for her role as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, will play the adoptive daughter of Firth’s character, Michael Peterson.

The role will mark Sophie Turner’s return to acting since the birth of her daughter, Willa.

The new series is based on a real court case which saw Michael Peterson accused of murdering his second wife Kathleen, played by Toni Colette.

Peterson has long maintained his innocence, though police are convinced he killed her.

A documentary series by the same name is available on Netflix and follows Peterson throughout the case.
