‘Spider-Man’ Director Jon Watts To Produce ‘Final Destination 6’

Jon Watts, director of Spider-Man: No Way Home, has joined the team behind New Line’s relaunch of its horror franchise Final Destination.
The director will serve as a producer on the project, titled Final Destination 6, and has written the film’s treatment and story.
Other names joining the production team include franchise veteran Sheila Hanahan Taylor and Craig Perry. Watts’ wife Dianne McGunigle has also joined the production team.
Speaking to Variety about the news, the director said: “Both Dianne and I have been massive fans of Final Destination from the very beginning. So to be able to have a hand in crafting a new story with the original team and New Line is going to be both fun and exciting.”
Final Destination was a surprise hit franchise for New Line in the early 2000’s.
Each movie centred on a character, who has a premonition of a horrific and deadly event, cheats their own death, and save the lives of several others in the process.
However, death eventually catches up with the survivors as they are killed off one by one in bizarre accidents.
