Stephanie Beatriz Says She Was In Labour During ‘Encanto’ Recording

Encanto actress Stephanie Beatriz has revealed that she was in labour while providing vocals for the song, Waiting on a Miracle.
The 41-year-old made the surprising revelation in an interview with Variety, adding that she hadn’t wanted Disney to “freak out” at the time.
“I didn’t want to tell anybody at Disney because I didn’t want anyone to freak out,” she said. “But I was already having some contractions when we were scheduled to record that day. I was like, ‘Well, fingers crossed I finish the song before [the baby] comes!”
Her daughter, Rosaline, marked her first child with her husband Brad Hoss and was welcomed back in August.
Asked whether he’d had any idea how close Beatriz was to giving birth, director Byron Howard admitted: “We knew she was very, very, very ready to have that baby. But she did not tell us she was almost, almost ready.”
Beatriz voiced the character of Mirabel Madrigal in the hugely successful Disney animation.
She is perhaps best known for her portrayal of Detective Rosa Diaz in Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
