Sydney McLaughlin Breaks World Record In Gold Medal Win

Breaking the record she set previously, Sydney McLaughlin wins Olympic gold in the 400-metres hurdles event.

Previously setting the record of 51.58 seconds, Sydney broke the record once more running the event in 51.46 seconds. After the race she says that racing second place Dalilah Muhammad is like, “Iron sharpening iron,” along with saying that every time the two step on the  track “it’s always something fast.”

McLaughlin wasn’t the only one to break the previous world record, with Dalilah also breaking the record running a now personal best 51.58. Following the race’s finish she says the “there are always thing you want to do better.” Adding that she she will “use this as a springboard to the next.”
