Sylvester Stallone has announced that his iconic boxing character Rocky will be returning to the big screen.

During an interview with Variety, Sylvester spoke about feeling “robbed” of any ownership of his Rocky character, and last year he even announced the retirement of Rocky Balboa.

The seventh chapter of Sylvester’s franchise has begun development and is set to see Rocky take a young street fighter under his wing.

He revealed, “Rocky meets a young, angry person who got stuck in this country when he comes to see his sister. He takes him into his life, and unbelievable adventures begin, and they wind up south of the border. It’s very, very timely.”

Creators for the next instalment are hoping for Sylvester to both write the script and star in the film, and with the diverse actor and filmmaker feeling as though Rocky is “like [his] brother,” it would be unlikely for him not to appear on the screen.

Let’s mimic the training montage and dust off the old walkman to play Robert Tepper, No Easy Way Out.
