Tana Mongeau’s ‘Tana Turns 21’ Will Only Air On YouTube

Tana Mongeau’s MTV series will only air on YouTube, and Perez Hilton believes it’s to exploit her following.
The new trailer for her No Filter: Tana Turns 21 will premiere July 8, 2019, on MTV YouTube and it will follow her crew as she transitions into adulthood.
In the trailer, as seen below, the reality star moves through the motions of her life over the last couple of years, with her saying she has “been scandalous as f***,” and “cancelled as f***,” — but right now, she is just her.
Shane Dawson replied saying, “I’m genuinely confused haha. Tana is relevant to teens, always trending, and very entertaining. why would MTV not put this on TV? seems like a no brainer right?”
In response, Perez says he believes MTV are “hedging their bets … probably got Tana to agree to do it for little money. They’re going to use and exploit her to grow their YouTube channel. AND if it’s a huge hit, then in success they will put her on TV. The onus is now on Tana to make it a hit.”
He furthered to say that if each episode “doesn’t get as many views as her average view count, [then] MTV considers this to be a fail.”
