Ric Ocasek Of ‘The Cars’ Dead At 75

The frontman and lead singer of The Cars, Ric Ocasek, has died at 75. 

Law enforcement says his body was discovered on Sunday in New York City at his townhouse where he was pronounced dead.

His estranged wife, Paulina Porizkova, allegedly found him unresponsive in his bed.

He started The Cars rock band in the 1970s with songs including Just What I Needed and Good Times Roll — their first Top 20 single Let Go arrived from their second album Candy-O in 1979.

Drive was a huge hit when it landed the third spot on the Billboard Hot 100 later featuring in the 1985 Live Aid event.

He is survived by his five children.
