The CMT Music Awards Move To CBS

The CMT Music Awards are set to move to CBS for the premiere of the 2022 ceremony.

The awards were established in 1967 and provide the only entirely fan-voted award show for country music. Musicians who have been recognised by the awards include Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban and Taylor Swift.

For the 2022 event, CMT will kick off the company’s first ever Country Music Week by hosting week-long special programming and events capped by exclusive director’s cut airings of the CMT Music Awards later on CMT and various ViacomCBS platforms.”

The 2021 show was hosted by Kelsea Ballerini and Kane Brown. Live performances included H.E.R. with Chris Stapleton; Gladys Knight, Mickey Guyton with Breland; and Needtobreathe, with Carrie Underwood.
