‘The Son’ Casts Vanessa Kirby

Vanessa Kirby is set to star alongside Laura Dern and Hugh Jackman in Florian Zeller’s new film, ‘The Son’.

According to Variety, the new feature will be a follow up to Zeller’s award winning film, The Father – starring Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman.

“Vanessa Kirby is for me a very great actress: intense, inventive and powerful. I am especially happy to take her on this cinematic adventure.” Stated Zeller.

Kirby is set for a busy year, having already been pegged to star in Thomas Bidegain’s survival thriller, Suddenly. The 33-year-old actress has also enjoyed success in her casting for ‘Mission: Impossible 7’ and ‘Mission: Impossible 8’.

‘The Son’ follows Peter (Jackman) as his busy life with new partner Emma (Kirby) and their baby is thrown into disarray when his ex-wife Kate (Dern) turns up with their teenage son, Nicholas.

Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Joanna Laurie and Christophe Spadone will produce alongside Zeller.
