‘The Wire’ Actor Michael K. Williams Found Dead In NYC Apartment

The Wire and Boardwalk Empire star Michael K. Williams has been found dead at his apartment in New York City.
Williams was sadly found dead in his home in Brooklyn on Monday, September 6 by his nephew, according to the New York Post.
No official cause of death has been announced yet however evidence of drug paraphernalia was reportedly found in the actors apartment.
In a statement confirming the news, Williams long-time representative Marianna Shafran said to The Hollywood Reporter.
“It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of Emmy nominated actor Michael Kenneth Williams.”
Williams, was best known for his role as Omar in HBO series The Wire. He also played the role of Albert “Chalky” White in Boardwalk Empire from 2010 to 2014.
Isiah Whitlock Jr. who starred as Senator Clay Davis in The Wire alongside Williams has paid tribute to the actor on Twitter.
“Shocked and saddened by the death of Michael K Williams. One of the nicest brothers on the planet with the biggest heart. An amazing actor and soul. May you RIP. God bless,” he said.
