T.I. Says He Makes Daughter Take Yearly Virginity Test

T.I. has made a claim that he accompanies his 18-year-old daughter to annual gynaecology check-ups.

The claim has caused outrage amongst the ‘Planned Parenthood’ community and social media commenters after he spoke about it on the Ladies Like Us podcast.

According to T.I. he attends the gynaecology checkups to ensure that his daughter is still a virgin, saying, “I think that most kids in hindsight, looking back, they always thank their parents for not allowing them to damage themselves as much as they could have.”

Deyjah Harris, T.I.’s daughter, recently turned 18 and Nazanin and Nadia, hosts of Ladies Like Us, asked the question if he’s ever held the “sex talk” with his daughters. He admitted, “Not only have we had the conversation, we have yearly trips to the gynaecologist to check her hymen,”

The rapper continued, “So we’ll go and sit down and the doctor will come and talk and you know, the doctor will maintain a high level of professionalism.

And he’s like: ‘Well, you know sir, in order for me to share information… and I said: ‘Deyjah they want you to sign this. They want you to sign this. So we can share information. Is there anything you would not want me to know? See Doc, no problem.’”

In a statement published by Nazanin, on behalf of Ladies Like Us, she wrote, “To everyone confused, angry and hurt by the recent episode of Ladies Like Us, we want to start off by saying that we sincerely apologise for our knee jerk reaction to the uncomfortable topic.

We were completely caught off guard/shocked and looking back, we should have reacted much differently in the moment. The comments were made and the reaction that followed are not in any way a reflection of our personal views on the topic. We support and love Women and feel their bodies are theirs to do as they wish.

There was absolutely no ill intent towards any party involved and feel deeply awful about the entire incident. We are not perfect, take full accountability of our lack of action and are continuously learning along the way.

We know an apology doesn’t make this go away but we welcome the discussion – that’s what our podcast is about.”

‘Planned Parenthood’ responded on social media, saying, “Some people just naturally have hymens that are more open. And many other activities besides sex can stretch your hymen — like riding a bike, doing sports, or putting something in your vagina (like a tampon or finger).

Once your hymen is stretched open, it can’t grow back. Some people think you can tell if someone’s had sex before if their hymen is stretched open. But that’s not the case.
