The title for the highly anticipated fourth installment of the Matrix franchise has been announced.

The title (‘The Matrix: Resurrections‘) was announced at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

According to Deadline, Warner Bros also shared the first trailer for the new film – directed by Lana Wachowski – which sees Keanu Reeves return as Neo.

Set in a near-future San Francisco, Neo appears once again trapped in a humdrum world, having apparently forgotten the events of the previous films.

Beginning with a conversation with his therapist (played by Neil Patrick Harris), Neo asks if he’s crazy. “We don’t use that word here,” replied Harris.

Neo then re-encounters Trinity (played by Carrie Anne Moss), who asks if they’ve met before.

Things quickly spiral back into Matrix familiarity, jumping between blue pills, red pills, fight scenes and Morpheus.

The new trailer appears to be an exclusive treat for guests of CinemaCon and is not currently available online.
