Warner Bros. has come to the defence of Ruby Rose’s former Batwoman co-star, Dougray Scott.

Rose described her former on-screen father as a “nightmare” to work with. She accused him of verbal abuse on set, particularly towards female colleagues, and alleged that he had once injured a stunt double.

Now in its most recent rebuttal, Warner Bros condemned Rose’s accusations against Scott, calling him a “consummate professional”.

“We condemn the comments made by Ruby Rose about Dougray Scott,” reads the statement shared by Deadline. “Warner Bros. has found Mr Scott to be a consummate professional and never received any allegations against him of bullying, or of abusive behaviour on his part. Mr Scott. was greatly respected and admired by his colleagues, and was a leader on set.”

Warner Bros. Television did not pick up Ruby Rose’s option for an additional season because of multiple complaints about workplace behaviour that were extensively reviewed by the Studio.”

This is the latest escalation in an increasingly public spat between Rose and the studio. Over the weekend, the Australian actress shared screenshots of emails which she claimed supported her allegations of toxicity on the Batwoman set.

Rose left the production after the conclusion of its first season in 2019. She was replaced by Javicia Leslie.
