Willem Dafoe Wants To Play ‘Joker’ Alongside Joaquin Phoenix

Actor Willem Dafoe has expressed his interest in playing the role of a Joker imposter alongside Joaquin Phoenix. 

The actor, who recently starred as the Green Goblin in Spider-Man: No Way Home, shared his idea for a new Joker film, that would see him play the role of a Joker imposter.

“There is something interesting about, like, if there was a Joker imposter. So it would be possible to have not duelling Jokers but someone that says to be the Joker that isn’t the Joker,” he said to GQ magazine.

“And that kind of opens up the possibility of an interesting story, particularly if you had Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker, and then you had someone who was either imitating or riffing off what he did,” he added.

Although fans have long since wanted Dafoe to play the role of Joker, the actor clarified his ideas are just fantasy and there currently isn’t any plans for him to star as the villain.
